Sivachelvan Status: Informational Date: December 2003 Mailbox: bfoster@cisco.com, chelliah@cisco.com Pages: 24 Characters: 49898 Updates: 3435 I-D Tag: draft-foster-mgcp-returncodes-03.txt URL: ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc3661.txt This document provides implementation guidelines for the use of return codes in RFC 3435, Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) Version 1.0. Return codes in RFC 3435 do not cover all possible specific situations that may ever occur in a gateway. That is not possible and not necessary. What is important is to ensure that the Call Agent that receives a return code behaves appropriately and consistently for the given situation. The purpose of this document is to provide implementation guidelines to ensure that consistency. This memo provides information for the Internet community. It does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list. Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list should be sent to IETF-REQUEST@IETF.ORG.
