Dear all,

Welcome to the non-WG list on Routing on Service Addresses (ROSA)! This list has been established for discussions around the current work on ROSA, as described in the current draft at https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-trossen-rtgwg-rosa First, let me thank you all for subscribing to this list and thus showing your interest in this discussion!

Let me briefly outline our plans moving forward. We are currently working on splitting the aforementioned, current draft of ROSA into three key parts, namely (i) use cases and problem statement, (ii) gap analysis and requirements and (iii) architecture. With this, we not just intend to make the content more digestive for reading but also to align with typical introductions of problem areas to the IETF.

Our plans are to have the first update, i.e., the use case and problem statement draft, available for submission by beginning of next week. I will announce its submission here and thus invite comments from your side on the both, i.e., the specific use cases (and their identified issues) and the problem statement we compiled; it would be great if you could all help us to sharpen the messages. We will follow this draft with the gap analysis and architecture drafts later next week, also inviting comments on those.

We hope to not just see good discussion on those drafts but also plan on incorporating as many comments as we can address in an update to IETF117 before the cut-off deadline on July 10th.

Furthermore, as previously announced on the RTG WG list, we also plan to organize a side meeting at IETF117; we are still working on the date but have penciled down either Tuesday or Wednesday of that week so far. We will distribute an agenda proposal to this list in due course for comments and possible adjustments. In the meantime, it would be great if you could mark this side meeting for your plans in San Francisco.

Hoping for a good discussion on ROSA on this list to start soon!

Best regards,

Dirk, on behalf of the co-authors
