I support this draft for WG adoption. Mostly because, its the best idea I have heard about putting routing protocols in space and I trust no one other than Tony to keep it simple.

The LISP WG is working on running overlays over satellite networks assuming the underlay knows how to route across ISLs. So this will be complementary work. For more information see:

    https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-farinacci-lisp-satellite-network/

In this draft, only user-stations and gateways run LISP and the mapping system runs on earth.
