We went for separate documents because we wanted to prevent fate-sharing where discussion on one definition (or, in the case of ASPA, the fact that the profile is not yet RFC) can lead to blocking progress on the other.

Furthermore, although having separate documents adds some process and review overhead, these documents are fairly trivial. So, it was felt that this additional burden should be quite minimal.

Finally, other object types can also benefit from this kind of notation, e.g., router keys and ghostbuster records, with more types expected in future. It may confuse readers if some definitions are combined in one document whilst others have their own.

That said, I am not fundamentally opposed to merging if the working group feels strongly.
