feeling appropriately *singed* by the flame, I offer the following
comment regarding BCD encoding (somewhere out there, a number of
ISOmorphs are grinning at the uncomfortable position I find myself
in regarding this subject:-):

TA-000772 is available for public consumption and *comment*.  A
large number of manufacturers of CPE, switching equipment, government
agencies, etc. have already commented on the document, and significant
changes have been incorporated into the TA resulting from those comments.
If the industry at large feels strongly enough about BCD encoding, such
sentiments should be reflected back to Bellcore and the BOCs.
