                SNMP Documents: Protocols and MIBs
                ----------------------------------

The following is a list of all the IETF documents on SNMP (including
MIBS) and their status as of 26-jan-92.

(Note: IETF standards can be labeled: Proposed, Draft, Full,
Experimental, Informational, or Historical. At irregular
intervals an updated version of the "IAB Official Protocol
Standards" is republished. It specifies the current
label on each IETF standard. The current version is RFC1250.
While a document is being reviewed/modified by working
groups, it is made available via FTP in the
internet-drafts directory. Something there is in
flux. Also, while in flux, the document may be stored
locally at the author's site and available via FTP,
       or sent thru EMAIL.)

Possible Future SNMP MIBs

    1) Tokenring Repeater - unknown if any work is in progress,
        proprietary MIBs exist.

    2) SMTP server - some EMAIL interest, unknown if any work
        is in progress.

    3) DNS server - some EMAIL interest, WG(dns-wg@nsl.dec.com)
discussed at July '91 IETF. Early draft being put
       together.

    4) Unix OS - some EMAIL interest, unknown if any work is
        in progress.

    5) RIP - several proprietary MIBs include this group.
A new WG has been formed to work on RIP-II. They
will also be developing a MIB. This working group
        is ietf-rip@ftp.com.

    6) IP filtering - several proprietary MIBs include this group,
unknown if any work in progress.
