Dear colleages, Below is a list that I have compiled that contains the status and location of every MIB that I am aware of. It has been checked, but there may be errors. The following is a list of all the IETF developed MIBs and their status as of 14-MAY-91, and all the MIBs in the proprietary MIB repository as of 5-MAY-91: (Note: IETF standards can be labeled: Proposed, Draft, or Full. While the document is being reviewed/modified by working groups, it is made available via FTP in the internet-drafts directory. Something there is in flux. Also, while in flux, the document may be stored locally, or sent via EMAIL.) 1) MIB-II - RFC-1213, March 1991 - draft standard 2) Remote LAN Monitoring (ie sniffers) - will be discused in special meeting on may 15 & 16 in San Jose Ca; stored at CMU (13-may-91 - date on document), machine: lancaster.andrew.cmu.edu, file: pub/rlanmib.txt, date on file: 13-apr-91; also sent via email to rlanmib@mti.com on 13-apr-91; lots of email comments have been generated; WG would like to submit as proposed standard 3) DECnet phase IV - WG would like to submit as proposed standard; sent via EMAIL in postscript as two messages to phiv-mib@pa.dec.com on 25-apr-91, (25-apr-91 date on document); some email comments. Sent via Email to x25mib@dg-rtp.dg.com - LAPB on 24-apr-91 and X.25 on 26-apr-91. The documents are also stored at dg-rtp.dg.com in directory x25mib with file names: lapb.910424.ls and x25.910426.ls. 17) Apple Talk - review pending for approval as a proposed standard; stored in internet drafts as draft-ietf-appleip-applemib-00.txt, file date is 12-feb-91, date on document is Jan 1991. Note: the document is also stored at lancaster.andrew.cmu.edu in directory /pub as file appletalk-mib.txt. 18) BGP - WG wants to submit as proposed standard, some requests have been made for changes, stored in internet drafts as draft-ietf-iwg-bgp-mib-02.txt, file date is 26-mar-91,date on document is mar 1991(ver 3). 19) OSPF - being reviewed for proposed standard, stored in internet drafts as draft-ietf-ospf-ospfmib-03.txt, file date is 5-apr-91, date on document is 2-apr-91. 20) PPP - stored in internet drafts as draft-ietf-pppext-pppmib-01.txt, file date is 11-sep-90, date on document is sept 1990; stored in old style MIB format. 21) IDRP - unknown if any work is in progress 22) IS-IS - unknown if any work is in progress 23) CLNS - RFC-1162, June 1990, (experimental status), old style MIB format. 24) Ethernet HUB - some EMAIL interest expressed, IEEE working group, unknown if any IETF WG has been started, proprietary MIBs exist 25) Tokenring HUB - unknown if any work is in progress, proprietary MIBs exist 26) SMTP server - some EMAIL interest, unknown if any work is in progress 27) DNS server - some EMAIL interest, unknown if any work is in progress 28) Unix OS - some EMAIL interest, unknown if any work is in progress 29) RIP - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 30) IP filtering - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 31) XNS protocols - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 32) IPX protocols - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 33) NFS - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 34) TFTP - several proprietary MIBs include this group, unknown if any work in progress 35) ISDN - one proprietary MIB include this group, unknown if any work in progress 36) SMUX - interest has been shown via mail messages to get a WG together for this MIB. The author, Marshall Rose, is planning on having it published as an informational RFC. Currently, the document is on machine uu.psi.com, in directory isode, file isode-interim.tar.Z, which is a compressed file and has date of 11-mar-91. And in this file the actual file is isode-interim/doc/memos/smux.txt. The date on the document is 11-jan-91. Proprietary MIBS: As of 5-may-91 there were 19 MIBs in the MIB repository. Only 3 of these MIBs were in the CONCISE format. Several of the MIBs had quite questionable form for tables as well as creative use of SEQUENCE. *******************************************************************
