Subject: Numbered Proposals
Attached is the list of proposals with numbers assigned by Internet Draft name. We can use those numbers to refer to specific drafts. I've been racking my alleged brain for a way to stimulate technical discussion and come to a solid, technical conclusion. I propose that we consider all numbered proposals as accepted and requiring integration into our final documents unless the proposal is rejected by working group consensus. That may require incompatible options. We would be hung. But maybe that will get people to sit up and take notice. Bob ------------------- Alten: Security Encapsulation of SNMP [1] draft-alten-snmp-sec-encap-00.txt Blumenthal, Hein, Natale, Wijnen: SNMPv2a Simple Authentication/Integrity for Community-based SNMP messages [2] draft-blumenthal-snmpv2a-community-00.txt Blumenthal, Hein, Natale, Wijnen: SNMPv2t Simple Network Management Protocol Version 2 with Transitional Authentication [3] draft-wijnen-snmpv2-snmpv2t-00.txt Case: [4] Proposed specific edits for corrections and simplifications to "SNMPv2 Classic". Note from the Chair: this is not a proposal with the same status as the others. I take it as Jeff's final comments on the drafts for "Snmpv2 Classic." Kornegay, Hanson: Extensible Message Framework for the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPemf) [5] draft-kornegay-snmpv2-emf-00.txt Mahoney, Harrington, Arneson: A Decoupled Approach to SNMPv2 and Its Features [6] draft-mahoney-snmpv2-features-00.txt Data Filter MIB for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2) [7] draft-harrington-data-filter-mib-00.txt Access Control MIB for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2) [8] draft-harrington-control-mib-00.txt Protocol Operations for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2) [9] draft-mahoney-snmpv2-proto-alt-00.txt McCloghrie, Rose, Waters, Galvin; user-based security: Administrative Infrastructure for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2) [10] draft-kzm-snmpv2-adminv2-alt-00.txt User-based Security Model for Version 2 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2) [11] draft-kzm-snmpv2-sec-alt-00.txt (Several others of the SNMPv2 Classic set were edited to remove dependencies on the Admin model. I'm assuming that these edits are a good thing in and of themselves and are not actually part of this proposal.) McCloghrie, Rose, Waters, O'Keefe: Managed Objects for the Configuration of SNMPv2 Agents Implementing the User-based Security Model [12] draft-kzm-snmpv2-usec-conf-alt-00.txt Romanov: Simple Authentication Mechanism for SNMP [13] draft-romanov-simple-snmp-00.txt Working Group: [14] SNMPv2 Classic, as a group of documents.
