Dear colleagues,

The IETF Nominating Committee (NomCom) is responsible for appointing individuals to fill open positions on the IETF LLC, IETF Trust, the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), and the Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG). Each year, ten voting members are selected in a verifiably random manner from a pool of volunteers. A larger and diverse pool of volunteers helps ensure a robust and effective selection process.

Volunteer here:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/nomcom/volunteer

NomCom activities are expected to begin in July 2026 and continue through November 2026. The majority of the work is anticipated to take place around IETF 126 and IETF 127 meetings, supplemented by conference calls in between. Remote participation will be fully supported.

The responsibilities of NomCom members include:

* Gathering input and requirements from the community
* Reviewing candidate applications and responses
* Evaluating community feedback regarding candidates
* Conducting candidate interviews
* Selecting and nominating a final slate of candidates

The NomCom process is defined in **RFC 8713**, and the selection of voting members will follow the guidelines outlined in **RFC 9389**.

Individuals are eligible to volunteer if they meet one of the following criteria:

* Attendance at three of the last five IETF meetings (in-person or virtual)
* Service as a Working Group Chair or Secretary within the past three years
* Authorship or co-authorship of an IETF RFC within the past five years

Detailed eligibility criteria can be found here:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc9389#name-criteria

You can verify your eligibility at:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/accounts/profile

Additional details regarding the timeline and selection process will be shared within the next two weeks.

Thank you for your consideration and participation.

Best regards,
Mankamana Mishra
NomCom Chair 2026
