A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries. RFC 9495 Title: Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) Processing for Email Addresses Author: C. Bonnell Status: Standards Track Stream: IETF Date: October 2023 Mailbox: corey.bonnell@digicert.com Pages: 8 Updates/Obsoletes/SeeAlso: None I-D Tag: draft-ietf-lamps-caa-issuemail-07.txt URL: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9495 DOI: 10.17487/RFC9495 The Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) DNS resource record (RR) provides a mechanism for domains to express the allowed set of Certification Authorities that are authorized to issue certificates for the domain. RFC 8659 contains the core CAA specification, where Property Tags that restrict the issuance of certificates that certify domain names are defined. This specification defines a Property Tag that grants authorization to Certification Authorities to issue certificates that contain the key purpose in the extension and at least one value or value of type that includes the domain name in the extension. This document is a product of the Limited Additional Mechanisms for PKIX and SMIME Working Group of the IETF. This is now a Proposed Standard. STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet Standards Track protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the Official Internet Protocol Standards (https://www.rfc-editor.org/standards) for the standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. This announcement is sent to the IETF-Announce and rfc-dist lists.
