I am no DNS expert, but I routinely see DNS records of the form

foobar.example.com CNAME cdn.example.net
email.foobar.example.com MX
email.foorbar.example.com TXT

But of course RFC8499 is the better source.

Going back to the presentations, Phillip Hallam-Baker noted that _prefix
labels don't work with DNAME.
