Hi,

I have submitted a new version of draft-liu-6man-icmp-verification.
IPv6 addresses, especially SRv6 SIDs, can be related with extra information/functions besides basic forwarding/routing semantics, such as SRv6 Endpoint Behaviors, flex algorithm, VPN services, and etc.
But we found that, compared with MPLS LSP ping, there's no mechanism to verify the data plane against the control plane in IPv6 networks.
This draft proposes extension of ICMPv6 messages to meet the validation requirements in IPv6.

Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks,
Yao
