Hi folks,

Following IETF 125, ITU-T SG17 chair, Arnaud, offered me the role of
Liaison Officer of ITU-T SG17 to IETF SEC area. I have gladly accepted,
and started as of last Wednesday.

In my understanding, the role is intended to strengthen the
collaboration and reduce the latency in the liaison process. I'll keep
my traffic to the lists to a minimum (potentially only providing brief
summaries of relevant sections of Liaison Statement (LS) to relevant WGs
providing a starting point for interested members), hoping the process
will mainly be driven by IETF contributors. That is, if there is any
pending LS for which any clarity is required from SG17 or if there is
any ITU-T recommendation that you believe undermines the security (of
TLS, for example), you are very welcome to bring it to me off-list. To
help me respond faster, I would request putting keywords "ITU-T SG17 <LS
number>" (e.g., "ITU-T SG17 2108") in the subject.

Having said that, I believe RATS and TEEP may find LS 2108 [0]
particularly relevant for review.

Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to close collaboration.

Kind regards,

-Usama
