Hi Karen,

I am sending you the comments from our developers about the profile,
I hope I am not too late. So, here we go:

1. Length Field (UInteger16): value = 10. The number of TLV octets
It is not clear stated if the type and length field is part of the length calculation or not. I know
that the TLV has a static size, but it would be good if the description explains the field exactly.
The Power Profile V2 uses the following description, which describes it better:
lengthField (UInteger16) value = number of remaining octets (i.e. after this) in the TLV, i.e. 20
plus the total number of octets , including the type and length fields in all the extensions (if any).

2. 128 Sync/DelayRequest Messages per second allowed
This could be a problem for M/S with a less powerful CPU

3. Point 8: " When Preferred Master Clocks are not the Best Master in one domain, they SHOULD operate in another domain when they.."
The sentence is unfinished.

4. Profile Identifier
The profile is missing a „Profile Identifier“ as required, is it planned to add this?

Kind regards,
Cristian

Folks,

The IETF TICTOC working group is in the middle of a working group last call on a PTP Enterprise Profile - "Enterprise Profile for the Precision Time Protocol

With Mixed Multicast and Unicast Messages"

We would like to also invite the IEEE 1588 community to review this profile. If you have any questions or comments on this document, feel free to either send them to the tictoc working group (tictoc@ietf.org<mailto:tictoc@ietf.org>) or to me personally (odonoghue@isoc.org<mailto:odonoghue@isoc.org>).

Regards,

Karen
