Sometimes whitespace is important, but the datatracker draft display seems to eagerly remove it. That's not ideal. See the difference between: http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-thomson-perpass-statement/ and the version on tools.ietf.org, which matches the original: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-thomson-perpass-statement-01 (Just testing the limits of the tools today.)
