Welcome to San Francisco! As we had no pressing business, Zahed and I elected not to hold a TSVAREA meeting at IETF 117. This email will serve as a substitute for the meeting, saving everyone some time. Please read it! *First, I am not running for a third term as Area Director. Please consider submitting your name to the NomCom as a candidate. Being an AD is not that hard and is a great way to learn about and improve the IETF. If you have questions or need help starting the process, don't hesitate to ask.* *Second, if there is anything you'd like to discuss with the ADs, we are holding office hours on Sunday, July 23rd. Details are here <https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/tsv-area/2dZ3d741AS__YKU4TknZU8CA1EM/>.* *Significant Working Group Updates* *CCWG* (Congestion Control Working Group) is our newest group! The first meeting will be at IETF 117. Thanks to *Reese Enghardt and Eric Kinnear* for agreeing to chair! *MASQUE* is now rechartered, and this week will work on adopting items for that charter. *ALTO and TAPS* delivered all of their chartered items, and will soon either close or recharter. *RMCAT *is closed. Thanks to *Colin Perkins and Anna Brunstrom* for leading this group to a successful conclusion. *DTN *is discussing the IPN URI scheme update. DTNMA got early review from the OPS area. The BPSec security context and BP admin record status are in WG last call. *RFCs Published since IETF 116* *9359* Echo Request/Reply for Enabled In Situ OAM (IOAM) Capabilities *9368* Compatible Version Negotiation for QUIC *9369* QUIC Version 2 *9378* In Situ Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (IOAM) Deployment *9392* Sending RTP Control Protocol (RTCP) Feedback for Congestion Control in Interactive Multimedia Conferences *9406* HyStart++: Modified Slow Start for TCP *9435* Considerations for Assigning a New Recommended Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) *New to the queue* ippm-ioam-ipv6-options masque-connect-ip *Sitting in the queue since 116* alto-performance-metrics, tcpm-rfc8312bis, tcpm-yang-tcp I would single out RFC9435 as especially worth reading. It's a document where someone who is interested in the real DSCP situation can learn a lot -- it turns out the unassigned codepoints are not a flat space. *TSVART* Thanks to the 18 folks who serve on the Transport Area review team. They help the ADs, they make documents better, and they get dinner three times a year! If you are interested in getting this window into the larger IETF beyond transport, see one of the ADs or Magnus Westerlund. Thanks to Bob Briscoe (x2), David Black, Gorry Fairhurst, Mirja Kuhlewind, Michael Scharf, Michael Tuexen, Colin Perkins, Yoshi Nishida, Olivier Bonaventure, Joe Touch, Magnus Westerlund (x2), Brian Trammell, Joerg Ott, Wes Eddy, and Tommy Pauly for completing reviews this cycle. *Have a good IETF 117* We hope to see you in the halls. Please say hello if you do! And we'll be back again at IETF 118 in Prague. Regards, Martin (for Zahed)
