The LA marathon starts around 9:00am on Sunday directly in front of the Omni Hotel (Figueroa & 7th Street). Most people will have cleared out by 12:00 noon. Guests arriving at the hotel in the AM hours may experience road closures and delays. It's possible that guest rooms may not be available until the mid to late afternoon hours. The hotel is planning to set up a separate "waiting/hospitality" area on the ballroom level so guests can relax while guest rooms are being prepared. It's very possible the rooms will be ready when guests arrive, but the hotel wants to be prepared in case they are not. Approximately 200,000 people will be congregating outside the hotel. The lobby will be very busy in the morning hours, and there will be a lot of commotion in the early am hours (5:30am) in the hotel. A helicopter may be landing on the roof of the hotel to transport dignitaries. ***************************** Dear IETFers: Following this message, you will receive five more regarding: IETF REGISTRATION (Registration cut-off is Thursday, February 29, 1996) AT-A-GLANCE AGENDA MULTICAST SCHEDULE TRAVEL DIRECTIONS The following information is/will be available via Gopher and the Web.
