Howdy,

We can certainly continue this discussion here before taking it the URI list.
But just to clarify, the uri@w3.org list was the IETF mailing used by
the  URI working
group when it existed, and it has been the long-running discussion list for the
Internet community for this activity.  Sharing the list was one way to make sure
that the discussion didn't fragment too much.
