Not only that, but these days everything is "internet connected" regardless of whether that actually adds anything useful*. I can't see many (if any) manufacturers defaulting to *not* internet connected.

* Eg, a made up example of a light "switch" and associated "smart" lights that don't work without taking to a controller "somewhere out in the internet" just so the user can control their lights from anywhere.
