Hi,

There seems to be sufficient interest in IRON that I
thought it might be helpful to post a bibliography in
one place rather than expect folks to glean all of the
pieces that are scattered throughout the list archives.
IRON itself is actually a conglomerate of architectural
constructs and functional specifications that also
includes RANGER, VET and SEAL. The big-picture can be
understood by just looking at the IRON core document:

 http://www.rfc-editor.org/internet-drafts/draft-templin-iron-17.txt

but if you want to dig deeper the full set of
constituent documents are here:

  http://www.rfc-editor.org/internet-drafts/draft-templin-iron-17.txt
  http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5720.txt
  http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-templin-intarea-vet
  http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-templin-intarea-seal

And, if you get that far you might also want to take
a look at the related use case analysis documents, which
includes operational considerations of interest not only
to ISPs but also to any other prospective IPv6 domains
of applicability:

  http://www.rfc-editor.org/internet-drafts/draft-russert-rangers-05.txt
  http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-templin-iron-pm-00.html
  http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-templin-ironmike-00

Finally, a first-version implementation is available here:

  http://isatap.com/iron/iron-1.3.tgz

I am working on an updated version of the implementation
and hope to release that within the next several days.

As always, I am open to your comments and questions.

Thanks - Fred
