As a formal IAB member, co-author of 11 IETF RFCs, and a Professor of Tsinghua University, as well as the leader of the local team for the NOC operation for IETF79 Beijing Meeting, and a Chinese citizen, I would like to share my comments regarding future IETF meetings in China.

    For 2.1 Country: VPNs can be freely used

We can address this issue, although it may not be an easy task.

    For 3.1 Country: Visa requirements are such that 80% of IETF attendees will be able to obtain their visas without excessive efforts or costs.

I believe that China has returned to normalcy for overseas travelers. There is an increased presence of foreigners at Tsinghua University now.

    I participated in IETF116 in Yokohama and had the opportunity to meet many friends. I also noticed the significant participation of Chinese engineers in the meeting. In fairness, I believe that regardless of global circumstances, the IETF meeting should return to China in the near future.
