Questions regarding slides on IESG work on WG slides

Thank you for the excellent presentations at the WG chairs meeting on Wed at IETF-119.

I have a few questions on the IESG Work on WG chairs slide


  1.  Needed skills for WG Chairs

Slide 8 of this presentation states: "Develop a list of required and desired skills for WG Chairs, including all significant tasks for WG operation and management."

Will this be shared with the WG chairs? Will this list have just general skills?  Or will this list also have some skills specific to specific areas?


  1.  How will the WG participants be queried for views on the WG chairs?

Slide 9 of this presentation states:

"At the individual WG Chair level, the IESG does not know key data, such as how WG participants rate them across a range of factors such as effectiveness and fairness, nor does it know how they rate themselves and their views on the support they need. ADs receive direct feedback where there is a problem, but better data would provide advance warning and reduce the need for rapid intervention."

What type of survey will the IESG use to ask the WG participants about WG Chairs?  Will the WG chairs get to review the survey before it is sent?


  1.  How does the planned Annual survey of each WG relate to the current IETF Community survey?


Slide 10 the following statement:  "Annual survey of each WG with questions about the chairs for an agreed range of factors. (This would replace the questions in the IETF Community covering the same things)"

What does this mean?  What questions on the IETF Community survey would this replace?
