Subject: OPS-3, the routing document

Dear colleagues,

you might have been wondering if I send in updated versions of my document
every two days and then you have decided not to read it until the newest
version has appeared.

I will not produce a newer version than what is now in the internet-drafts
directory: draft-ietf-x400ops-mhs-service-02.txt (Nov 11, 1992)
Please consider this document as the basis for your discussion in Washington.

I got several comments so far which will lead to the following changes:

- rename WEP to RELAY throughout the document
this reflects clearer the function and I get rid of wrong associations
  with the term WEP
- Move the Network-priorities from the DOMAIN document to the RELAY document
It's not needed in the DOMAIN document, it's RELAY specific so it should
be placed in the RELAY document.
There will therefore be Network-priorities in the REALY document and
RELAY-priorities (instead of the default-priority) in the DOMAIN document.
- Change phone number format to CCITT E.123 with X.500 directory modifications
  to support extension numbers (+41 1-261-8188 x233)
- put a copy of the BNF definitions sorted alphabetically in an appendix
people got confused about hte sequence of the definitions I had in my
document. It has some logic there, each chapter is top-down, except for
the basic definitions where I have put everything which I need twice or
which would make the other chapters too big with nitty-gritty details.
- expand on the line wrapping issue (there are problems with automatic
tools at the moment if people wrap the line in a field where white space
  would be significant.)
- expand on the concept of primary and secondary RELAYs to make it more clear
  what can be done.
- modify appendix B table T-2 to sort the attributes in hierarchical order

-> using the document from the internet-drafts directory together with this
notes gives you the most recent status of the work.

Greetings to all and have a good meeting,

Urs.
