Just curious: why does the extra space appear in the first place?

I'd prefer to avoid artwork here if possible. There's nothing very arty 
about contributors. ;-)

P.S. Chris Wood is no longer at Apple, perhaps his affiliation needs to 
be changed to Cloudflare.
