Just FYI. In the homenet meeting where it appeared the remote person’s microphone wasn’t working, it turned out subsequently (when the same person joined babel) that the problem was local (to Meetecho) and not remote. The problem was solve by contacting Meetecho, and not by the remote person doing anything. The remote person was unjustly maligned (by me).
