I think the above represents a noteworthy error.

Privacy is as desirable as ever in this case as privacy is something
desired by the person(s) and not the network operator. The latter is
of course also sometimes interested in their customers' privacy, but
the desire or requirement for privacy does not disappear whenever the
network operator, or advertising network, or governments decide they
want to know what's going on.

There are of course trade offs to be made in terms of how to balance
user's privacy requirements vs. network operator's network management
requirements, and those aren't simple.
