For the record I'd like to point out that, when participating in the IETF without sponsor, recognition from our peers is the only currency that we can get in exchange from our time and costs for participating.

So if on the one hand Internet-Draft authors are certainly within their rights to not timely acknowledge contributions in their documents, on the other hand I am perfectly within my right to refuse to do any subsequent work on an Internet-Draft until my contributions are acknowledged.
