Hi Cheng and all,

Thank you for your quick reply.

We agree with you that it would be better to mention some flexibility in hybrid mode but adding a new component will increase complexity. Therefore, we think if it is possible to make a simple decision in C-SMA and C-NMA? Because different service types do have different requirements. For some delay-sensitive service, such as intelligence transportation, path computation is better to perform in ingress CATS-Forwarder. In this way, the signaling transmission time between the centralized C-PS and the ingress CATS-Forwarder can be reduced. As for other service that prioritize global utilization, such as VR/AR, SDWAN, path computation is better to perform in the centralized C-PS because centralized C-PS has a global perspective.

We have a proposed text as following but we are not sure if this is suitable for adding to "4.3 Metrics Distribution" of the draft.
“In hybrid model, the C-SMA and C-NMA can determine whether to report the collected metrics to centralized C-PS or C-PS in ingress CATS-Forwarder according to the requirements (delay or global utilization, etc.) of different service types. ”

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Best regards,
Xinxin Yi

Hi Cheng and all,

We have some minor comments for draft-ldbc-cats-framework-06 after carefully thinking the similarities and differences between this draft and ours (draft-yi-cats-hybrid-solution-02). We think it maybe better to consider following issues of the hybrid model in section 4.3.
[Cheng]Yes, to me, I think some ideas also come from your draft draft-yi-cats-hybrid-solution-02.

1. The methods of metric distribution can be chosen according to the requirements (delay or global utilization) of different service type. It is recommended to add related discussions.

[Cheng] Exactly, some flexibility should be mentioned in Hybrid mode. Your input is valuable. We can discuss to have some text in the future revision.

 2. It is recommended to add a controller-like component. After collecting the metrics, this component can decide whether to perform path computation in the centralized C-PS or in the C-PS of the CATS-Forwarders according to the service type.
[Cheng] This is an interesting idea, we may call it as a orchestrator ?
We may have different implementation of hybrid mode, and logically, an abstract component may be needed.
But I am not sure that if we should introduce a new component or describe the decision logic in text directly? You know, sometimes, too many components make the system complicated. We can discuss, or you can post some text directly to the list or Github repo.

Proposed text will be very welcome!

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Best regards,
Xinxin Yi

Hi CATS,

This update mainly merged the content from draft-yao-cats-awareness-architecture, the update includes:

* Added a new section 3.3 Framework Overview: In this section, a high-level overview figure is added to describe the CATS framework.
* Editorial modifications of other sections' title, such as section 3.4
* Added text in C-PS definition to explain this logical component can be implemented on a Controller.
* Added three deployment models: Distributed, Centralized and Hybrid in Deployment section
* Added related text and figures to describe these three models in Metric distribution section
* Added examples of service access packet in Service access Processing section.
* Added text in Acknowledgement section to explain the text originally come from draft-yao-cats-awareness-architecture, thank you for your excellent contributions!
* Moved Guangping and Gyan to the draft due to the limitation of author numbers, many thanks for your long-term support of the draft!

We believe the content of this draft has been quite stable, though we also believe we can enhance the draft in many aspects, because no draft is perfect!
The comment window will remain open, so if you have any comments, please feel free to let us know.

The authors may like to request for WG adoption, and turn this draft into a WG item, and let's review it more critically, and make it more professional.
Many thanks to Huijuan and other authors of draft-yao-cats-awareness-architecture again!

Happy Chinese Loong year!
Li Cheng
