I eliminated it because it wasn't the source code.  I added an html version to 
view the current content.

I've only occasionally used markdown so it's more difficult that XML for me.

In addition, XML features depend on whether one uses mmark, pandoc, Kramdown or 
whatever, an probably varies by version as well.  Xml2rfc V3 seems to be quite 
stable, and anyway it's the only file which gets posted to datatracker.
