[Ietf-languages] ISO 639-3 changes: Part 1

It’s time again for the annual wave of language subtag additions, changes, and deprecations to reflect the annual wave of changes to ISO 639-3.

This post and the five which follow contain proposed records and registration forms, organized by and ordered within the categories shown in the document “ISO 639-3 Change Requests Series 2022 Summary of Outcomes,” located at https://iso639-3.sil.org/sites/iso639-3/files/reports/639-3_ChangeRequests_2022_Summary.pdf :

1. Deprecations (retirements) from other than a split of a language code element
2. Deprecations (retirements) and creations from code element splits
3. Entirely new code elements
4. Previously deprecated code element created again
5. Updates: Name, Scope, Macrolanguage membership, Denotation changes

Category 4 is unique to this change cycle; it has never occurred before as far as I know.

In addition, there is one other category not shown in the Summary of Outcomes document, which I will informally call:

6. Correction of a previous error

As always, these forms follow the organization of the 639-3 document to make life easier for reviewers who wish to correlate the two data sets.

Please review these forms carefully and send any corrections or other feedback to the list. There is a total of 43 pairs of record and registration form, so there is a non-trivial chance that I’ve made a clerical error or some sort, which we don’t want making its way into the Registry.

The review period for these changes ends Thursday, March 16 AoE.
