The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "Serial Number Arithmetic" <draft-ietf-dnsind-serial-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document is the product of the DNS IXFR, Notification, and Dynamic Update Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Frank Kastenholz and Jeffrey Burgan. Technical Summary "Serial Number Arithmetic" clarifies the techniques to use for performing arithmetic on DNS SOA serial numbers. Working Group Summary This protocol represents the consensus of the DNSIND working group after length and detailed discussions of the protocols. Protocol Quality These protocols have been reviewed by Frank Kastenholz and Jeff Burgan of the IESG.
