The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "PPP LCP Extensions"
<draft-ietf-pppext-lcpext-04.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document
is the product of the Point-to-Point Protocol Extensions Working
Group. The IESG contact persons are Stev Knowles and David
Piscitello.

Technical Summary

The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) [1] provides a standard method for
transporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links. PPP
defines an extensible Link Control Protocol (LCP) for establishing,
configuring, and testing the data-link connection. This document
defines several additional LCP features which have been suggested over
the past year.

Working Group Summary

   No issues of contention.

Protocol Quality

The document has been reviewed by David M. Piscitello on behalf of the
IESG.
