The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "RIPng for IPv6"
  <draft-ietf-rip-ripng-04.txt> as a Proposed Standard.

The IESG also approved the Internet-Draft "RIPng Protocol
  Applicability Statement" <draft-ietf-rip-ripng-applic-00.txt> for
  publication as an Informational RFC.

These documents are the product of the Routing Information Protocol
Working Group. The IESG contact person is Joel Halpern.

Technical Summary

This specification defines the version of the RIP routing protocol for
use with IPng. It provides a simple routing protocol for use in
limitted circumstances, as outlined in the Applicability Statement.

Working Group Summary

There was not significant dissent, and significant support in the
 working group for this protocol.

Protocol Quality

The protocol has been reviewed by Joel M. Halper, the Routing Area
Director. It is a sound transformation of the RIP-2 protocol.
