Dear opsawg,

We updated the document and replaced the references from Path Tracing (draft-filsfils-ippm-path-tracing) to Alternate Marking (RFC 9341, RFC 9343, draft-ietf-ippm-ioam-deployment, draft- fz-spring-srv6-alt-mark) currently under development at IPPM. Describing with IOAM (RFC 9197, draft-ietf-ippm-ioam-deployment, draft-ahuang-ippm-dex-timestamp-ext) and Alternate Marking two applications.

Since the Path Tracing implementation changed according to section 9.2 from draft-filsfils-spring-path-tracing-04 to draft-filsfils-ippm-path-tracing-00, this document is no longer applicable since the timestamp changed from a Segment Routing Header TLV to the IPv6 destination option header which according to Section 4.6 of RFC8200 (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc8200#section-4.6) can only be parsed at the decapsulation node. Hence it is no longer applicable for postcard based on-path delay measurement.

We will approach next the IP Performance Registry experts for a review on the document. Especially on the aspect of linking the two registries since RFC 8911 and RFC 8912.

I would appreciate your review and comments on the mailing list.

Best wishes
Thomas
