All,

The 6man WG has requested that draft-ietf-mboned-64-multicast-address-format move from the MBONED WG to 6man. Their request is undeniable because:

- the 6man charter clearly includes maintenance of the IPv6 addressing scheme
- draft-ietf-mboned-64-multicast-address-format updates RFC 4291 (The IPv6 Addressing Scheme)

I have conferred with the MBONED chairs and they agree that the work falls clearly in the 6man charter. So, MBONED will cease work in this area and the authors are asked to bring the problem to 6man.
