I connected RIPE87 (in Rome) and a few other things with IETF118 (in Prague).
Next year, RIPE89 will likely be the week before IETF121 (Dublin).

Alas, getting to/from Ireland is difficult and annoying without an airplane.
I've done it; but the Ferry booking system makes it very challenging.
For instance, from Cherbourne (France), one can not book a cabin for one on
the overnight ferry if one is not bring a car with you.
