Is the problem in appendix C that the vlan-tagging is defined only for
interfaces with if:type = 'ethernetCsmacd' or if:type =
'ieee8023adLag' while the base-interface and vlan-id leafs only exist
for interfaces with if:type = 'l2vlan'? In other words, is your
question concerning which if:types a vlan interface would have to use?

Concerning the location, I would assume that it does not exist on the
vlan interface itself because the location is a property of the base
interface.

Perhaps all that is needed is to add another vlan example interface to
the config snipped shown in Appendix D.
