Dear IRSG members, As co-chair of the Network Coding Research Group (NWCRG) and shepherd for this document, I would like to submit: Title : Network Coding Taxonomy Authors : Brian Adamson Cedric Adjih Josu Bilbao Victor Firoiu Frank Fitzek Samah A. M. Ghanem Emmanuel Lochin Antonia Masucci Marie-Jose Montpetit Morten V. Pedersen Goiuri Peralta Vincent Roca Paresh Saxena Senthil Sivakumar Filename: draft-irtf-nwcrg-network-coding-taxonomy-05.txt https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-irtf-nwcrg-network-coding-taxonomy/ <https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-irtf-nwcrg-network-coding-taxonomy/> Pages : 15 Date : 2017-07-18 > Abstract > This document is the product of the Network Coding Research Group > (NWCRG). It summarizes a recommended terminology for Network Coding > concepts and constructs. It provides a comprehensive set of terms in > order to avoid ambiguities in future Network Coding IRTF and IETF > documents. This document is intended to be in-line with the > terminology used by the RFCs produced by the Reliable Multicast > Transport (RMT) and FEC Framework (FECFRAME) IETF working groups. for IRSG Review and Approval (according to RFC5743, 2.2). This document has a long history (WG Item in March 2014!), essentially because of a long silent period, and has only been reactivated end of 2016/beginning of 2017. In 2017, it has been discussed during three well-attended audio conferences, each of them gathering 6 to 8 participants, it has been openly co-edited with many comments and suggestions made by several active co-authors, and finally subject to a RG Last Call. The general feeling was that the document was ready for next step. I believe that this document meets the requirements for RG preparation defined in RFC5743 and that it is ready for IRSG review. Thanks. Regards, Vincent
