Hi Tom,

I'm not sure to parse your comments.

<tp>

As English, hopefully, but my point is more who needs this thing, this object class when so many have been defined previously by I2RS, OPSAWG, CCAMP, TEAS and so on. Look, for example, at RFC8345; from the start, that leaves me in no doubt what it is doing and why, and it is that sort of big picture that I lack here. For me, this I-D talks around the abbreviation 'SAP' (one which already has a widely defined and different meaning) while never saying what it is.

Tom Petch

SAPs are defined in the abstract, but also in the first sentence of the intro:

   From the perspective of a service provider, the Service Attachment
   Points (SAPs) are abstraction of the network reference points where
   network services can be delivered to customers.

A VPN network access (RFC9182) is an example of a SAP. VRFs are another example of SAPs. Both are called out in the draft.

Cheers,
Med
