Hi,

I'm apposed to the adoption of this draft.

I share the concerns that Eric and Toerless have expressed.

I also think a more high level discussion is needed to determine whether we need an other state-full protocol to build multicast trees. This draft proposes to create multicast state by using the IGP. Are the benefits of that so significant, compared to existing protocols, to justify building it? There will still be state, which will lead to convergence issues and complexity in operating it. Claiming that this idea follows the SR architecture because state is carried in the IGP is not a convincing argument.

Thx,

Ice.

There was a good discussion in the meeting and now it’s time to gauge interest in adoption on the list. Please respond and let us know what you think about adopting this draft.
