I just mentioned what I would have preferred. One could argue putting 
such a long definition in abstract is also not the wisest editorial 
choice, but I will not because that's not my concern. Please focus on my 
concern below.

Now this reads, "w and x - i.e., y and role of w in z" which to me means 
that w and x are not orthogonal. Let's take an example. Evidence is 
probably the easiest to think about. Let's consider Arm CCA that we both 
have a shared understanding. So do you view first column in Tables 2 and 
3 in [0] as the "logical payload" and the second column in these tables 
as the "semantic type"? If not, tell me what exactly is "logical 
payload" and "semantic type" in this case.
