One could argue putting such a long definition in abstract is also not the wisest editorial choice, but I will not because that's not my concern. Please focus on my concern below. > >> I have trouble understanding the following part and I think it can be written more clearly: >> >> On 24.09.25 18:43, Thomas Fossati wrote: >> >> NEW >> Conceptual Messages describe the logical payload and >> semantic type - i.e., what is being conveyed and its role in the >> attestation flow >> >> I think it is the term sentence structure that confuses me. The statement is of the form "w and x - i.e., y and z". So I have three questions: >> >> Are w and x orthogonal? >> Is there a 1:1 relationship between w to y and x to z? >> What is "its" referring to: w or x? >> >> If the answer to both 1 and 2 is yes, > Yes. > >> and the answer to 3 is x, > No. "its" refers to the adjacent "what is being conveyed", i.e., "the > logical payload". > > Expanded: "[...] and the role of the logical payload in the attestation flow". Now this reads, "w and x - i.e., y and role of w in z" which to me means that w and x are not orthogonal. Let's take an example. Evidence is probably the easiest to think about. Let's consider Arm CCA that we both have a shared understanding. So do you view first column in Tables 2 and 3 in [0] as the "logical payload" and the second column in these tables as the "semantic type"? If not, tell me what exactly is "logical payload" and "semantic type" in this case. [0] https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10373038
