Dear all,
It was pointed out to me that reader might (rightfully) assume 'IPv4
addresses covered' and 'IPv6 addresses covered' are *unique* IPs; but
the metrics comes from adding up all IPs in all IPAddrBlocks in all
ROAs. Multiple ROAs can of course cover the same IP space, as IP space
can be originated from multiple ASNs. To make matters worse, last year I
did deduplicate IPs before counting them - so I ended up comparing
apples to oranges. Whoops & sorry! :-)
Below is a revised table. I've added an additional 'Uniq' metric to
better show YoY changes:
2022-12-31 2023-12-31
Total cache size (KiB): 1,240,572 1,546,728 (+25%)
Total number of files (objects): 242,969 309,802 (+27%)
Publication servers (FQDNs): 52 63 (+21%)
Certification authorities: 34,901 40,511 (+16%)
Route origin authorizations: 138,323 188,345 (+36%)
Unique VRPs: 390,752 497,341 (+27%)
IPv4 addresses covered: 2,217,685,134 2,502,293,068 (+12%)
Uniq IPv4 addresses covered: 1,354,270,408 1,502,281,680 (+11%)
IPv6 addresses covered: 12,570 * 10^30 17,263 * 10^30 (+37%)
Uniq IPv6 addresses covered: 9,447 * 10^30 15,128 * 10^30 (+60%)
Unique origin ASNs in ROAs: 34,455 40,656 (+18%)
If you want to check my math, the sources used for the above numbers are
the CSV and JSON files in these two tarballs:

Kind regards,
Job
