Hi WG, Recently a new revision of draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming was submitted, which describes the SRv6 based solution for the integration between IP and its underlay network layer. In this version, an alternative solution described in draft-han-spring-srv6-underlay-tunnel-programming is merged into this document as another solution option. There are also many editorial changes to improve the readability. The authors would like to solicit review and feedbacks on both the targeted use cases and the two solution options. We also requested for a time slot to present and discuss this draft in the upcoming IETF 120 meeting. Best regards, Jie -----Original Message----- From: internet-drafts@ietf.org [mailto:internet-drafts@ietf.org] Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2024 9:35 AM To: Dongjie (Jimmy) <jie.dong@huawei.com>; Liuyan Han <hanliuyan@chinamobile.com>; Minxue Wang <wangminxue@chinamobile.com>; Ran Chen <chen.ran@zte.com.cn>; Zongpeng Du <duzongpeng@foxmail.com> Subject: New Version Notification for draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming-08.txt A new version of Internet-Draft draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming-08.txt has been successfully submitted by Minxue Wang and posted to the IETF repository. Name: draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming Revision: 08 Title: SRv6 for Inter-Layer Network Programming Date: 2024-06-25 Group: Individual Submission Pages: 14 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming-08.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming/ HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-dong-spring-srv6-inter-layer-programming-08 Abstract: The Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) Network Programming framework enables a network operator or an application to specify a packet processing program by encoding a sequence of instructions in the IPv6 packet header. Following the SRv6 Network Programming concept, this document defines SRv6 based mechanisms for inter-layer network programming, which can help to integrate the packet network layer with its underlying layers efficiently. New SRv6 behaviors used for steering packets to underlay links or connections are defined, and the applicability of these SRv6 behaviors in typical inter-layer network programming scenarios is illustrated.
