    Hello,

As you are probably aware, please find the latest version of the draft on extending Segment Routing into the optical/transport domain. The main changes in this version include:

    1. We have modified the Transport SR proposal to be a special case of SR TE policy.
    2. Clarence is now an author on the draft.

Overall, the draft proposes to extend SR into the optical/transport domain with a concept of transport segments. The draft covers some use-cases for transport SR along with PCEP and BGP-LS extensions to carry transport SIDs. With these changes, we ask folks to review the draft, and the WG to consider adoption of the proposal.

    Thanks,
    Madhukar

Abstract:
This document illustrates a way to integrate a new class of nodes and
links in segment routing to represent transport networks in an opaque
way into the segment routing domain. An instance of this class would
be optical networks that are typically transport centric. In the IP
centric network, this will help in defining a common control protocol
for packet optical integration that will include optical paths as
'transport segments' or sub-paths as an augmentation to packet paths.
The transport segment option also defines a general mechanism to
allow for future extensibility of segment routing into non-packet
   domains.

Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org.
