 [RWG]  Though ascii art is good for conveying bits in bytes of packets,
it is absolutely horrid for trying to exactly communicate a formula.  I
support Bob's position that this would be better expressed as code snippits.

 [RWG] This seems to indicate there is a breakdown in process.
