On the question of MTIs...

I've no strong opinion on whether this would be good or bad, but
there is a perhaps-minor but real "rift" between devices supporting
GCM and those supporting CCM, and I've heard it postulated that
a cha-cha based ciphersuite could be the common denominator that
provides interop between those classes of device. I guess that's
an argument for making both ciphersuites MTI (note: I'm not claiming
it's a winning argument, but it is a thing to consider).
