Sue & Jon (as trill chairs) and TRILLers generally,

I'm not familiar with custom & practice in the TRILL WG, but is it
appropriate to discuss adoption of this draft yet?

*Background:**
*ECN was added to IP in 2001 (Proposed Std) and is now finally starting
to happen. Network support is confined to data centres at the mo. And
bottlenecks on the public Internet including IXPs need to be next. Hence
the need for a spec of how to support ECN in TRILL.

*Status:**
*Some of you will recall in Buenos Aires Donald & I presented 3 ways of
solving the problem of supporting ECN in TRILL.
#1 violated layering , so was summarily rejected.
#2 was the only one written up in draft-00
#3 was much better, but only thought up after we submitted draft-00.

In draft-01, we've completely replaced solution #2 with the preferred
solution #3.
There are no holes in the text now - it's nice and simple and all ready
to go.

It's fairly terse, so it might need more explanation.
Pls read, comment, bash.

Cheers

Bob
