Subnet prefixes of any length work perfectly fine with ND nowadays.

Just "SLAAC" doesn't, on most platforms.

I've heard that OpenBSD can do SLAAC with non-/64 prefix lengths
just fine these days, though I have not tried it.

Using MAC-based EUI-64 for IIDs seems to be a relic from the past anyway.
