What is needed is a way to signal to the server operators that the request could have been made over IPv6 so they can measure what percentage of their clients are theoretically capable of connecting to them over IPv6. A HTTP header with a value of “yes” that is added to the request by the client if they have a global IPv6 address (includes ULA) and “no” if they don’t. -- Mark Andrews > On 17 Apr 2026, at 18:56, Gert Doering <gert@space.net> wrote: > > Hi, > >> On Fri, Apr 17, 2026 at 08:37:44AM +1200, Brian E Carpenter wrote: >>> On 17-Apr-26 02:02, Sávyo Vinícius de Morais wrote: >>> That's a great milestone for the Internet infrastructure! >>> >>> However, in the other end, when we talk about available content, the >>> numbers are not that good. >>> In a recent survey we ran in Brazilian webpages, only circa 10% of >>> government pages [1] and 15% of private companies pages [2] are >>> available in our national scenario. >> >> And that will not change until there is a strong financial advantage >> in supporting IPv6 access. > > We'd really need to make google rank-down web pages with no IPv6... this > will make sure that all the SEOs of the world will make sure IPv6 happens > in the next 24 hours. > > Alas, dreams... > > Gert Doering > -- NetMaster > -- > have you enabled IPv6 on something today...? > > SpaceNet AG Vorstand: Sebastian v.
