In context of this errata the right term might be "assigned sex" rather than just "sex". I am not sure, but that term came up when we talked with people about their requirements while working on JSContact.

Tangentially to this errata, we'll very soon publish a standard RFC that adds new vCard properties: GRAMGENDER and PRONOUNS: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-calext-vcard-jscontact-extensions-12.html

GRAMGENDER allows to set the _grammatical_ gender to use when addressing a contact. It does not say anything about assigned sex or gender identity. We found that most vCards currently use GENDER for grammatical use, such as salutations in German and the like.

PRONOUNS is a free text value and can be set for different contexts using the TYPE parameter.
